4 Types of Foundations

Currently there are four types of charitable foundations working for the benefit of mankind. A foundation is basically a registered charity by another name.

Across the planet many countries' charitable foundations have arisen to fulfill their chosen projects. This site worldatlas.com gives us a list of the wealthiest foundations worldwide. Celebrity Foundations

It's common knowledge that many celebrities in film, music and sports are also very charitable and have created foundations. However, many of us do not know their names and what these foundations actually do. Here are some websites that have taken the time to mention celebrities and their charitable work. Corporate Foundations

Corporations also feel a duty to give back and in the eyes of the public this is great PR and equally good business practice. The wikipedia site wikipedia.org lists 40 of the world's corporate charitable foundations.

The site fortune.com features the 20 most generous companies of the Fortune 500. When governments reduce their presence by cutting budgets, we hope we can rely on some of these companies to fill the slack.

Presidential Foundations

Usually when a president of the United States ends his term (or even during his term), a foundation is created in his name. The foundations do a variety of work creating the presidential libraries, and many activities that benefit the American public.
